How does the sentence counter decide what's a sentence?
It splits on period, exclamation mark, question mark and ellipsis, plus explicit line breaks. Abbreviations like 'Dr.' may inflate the count slightly — rephrase or expand them if you need an exact number.
How many sentences should a paragraph have?
Typical English paragraphs have three to five sentences, though one-sentence paragraphs are fine for emphasis. Use the counter to spot paragraphs that drift above eight or nine sentences.
Does it count questions and exclamations?
Yes. Any sentence ending in '.', '!', '?' or '…' counts as one sentence.
